Mrs. Audrey Gill's PHYSICS class members were learning about Newton's "second law" at WHS this week. For those of you not familiar with Newton's 2nd law, here 'tis:

Newton's second law of motion can be formally stated as follows: "The acceleration of an object as produced by a net force is directly proportional to the magnitude of the net force, in the same direction as the net force, and inversely proportional to the mass of the object."

So, the class set out to see how MASS and FORCE affect ACCELERATION. They hypothesized if MASS increases, ACCELERATION will be constant. If FORCE increases, ACCELERATION will be constant.

Members of the class include Hayden Baker, Valerie Ast, Karsten Gill, Grey Hatfield, Reese Heasty, Drake Hendrix, Tanner Dillon, Ellie Buresh, Jacob Ewing and DeAndre Washington.

The students, through experimentation, are collecting data that will either prove or disprove their hypothesis re: MASS, ACCELERATION and FORCE. We will let ya know what they found out! Stay tuned!
