NEA's Read Across America is an annual reading motivation and awareness program that calls for every child in every community to celebrate reading on March 2, the birthday of beloved children's author Dr. Seuss.

This past week, the 4 elementary schools in Wellington took part in the NEA sponsored "READ ACROSS AMERICA" activities, culminating on Friday with Dr. Seuss's birthday. WHS's Crusaders of the Stage visited the elementary schools, sharing and reading Dr. Seuss stories to their attentive K-5 listeners!

Beloved children's book author Dr. Seuss would have turned 108 on Friday, and he would surely have been proud to see that his works are still relevant as ever, resonating with children—and adults—of all ages. Born Theodor Seuss Geisel in 1904, the writer produced more than 60 children's books before his death in 1991.
