FINAL UPDATE from 4A State Girls Tennis in Topeka:

Calli Hatfield and Rylee Rusk, fall to Independence 6-9 and end up with the 6th place medal! Congrats to both on great tournament play and great careers at WHS. We are very proud of you both!

With her "3" wins this weekend, Rylee Rusk now has 118 career wins at WHS and now holds that record. The previous record was set last year by graduating Senior Kylie Aufdengarten at 117. Congratulations Rylee! A marvelous acheivement!

Both of these young ladies are fun to watch on the courts. They are agile, quick and talented. They'll be missed.

Congrats again!!

OCTOBER 17th @ 10:35AM

Calli & Rylee were victorious this morning, downing Hesston 9-6 and will now go up against Marquez and Gregory of Independence, whom they beat in Round 1 on Friday. This is for 5th place!

GOOD LUCK Rylee and Calli - you can do it!! GO BIG RED!

OCTOBER 17th @ 8:00AM

GOOD LUCK today to Calli Hatfield and Rylee Rusk! The duo went 2-1 in opening day doubles action at the 4A State Girls Tennis Tournament in Topeka. The wins on Friday were against Independence and Wichita Trinity. The loss came against Buhler.

Rylee and Calli will start off this morning vs Martin & Albin of Hesston. The winner will advance to the 5th place match, and will medal! Good Luck Ladies! GO BIG RED!!

OCTOBER 16th @ 5:45PM

Update #3 from the 4A State Girls Tennis Tournament in Topeka...our WELLINGTON DUO STAYS ALIVE, winning their 3rd match on the day vs Wichita Trinity, to go 2-1 and advance to Saturday action! Up first on Saturday will be Martin & Albin of Hesston. That winner will then play for 5th place and a medal!

Good Job today Ladies - that 2nd match win today by Rylee, tied her with Kylie Aufdengarten - both had/have 117 career match victories at WHS, a record established last year by Aufdengarten. A win tomorrow by Rusk and Hatfield will break that tie at 117 and give Rylee the record. I have no doubts Kylie, who is playing tennis at Ft Hays this year, is cheering them on big time!!

GOOD LUCK ON SATURDAY LADY CRUSADERS! That medal is getting closer-your fans are eager and happy you'll be playing!!
